Big Items = Better Games

Gamefroot allows you to use items of any size in your games, so let’s take a quick look at how you can make a game better with big items. Bigger is better!

By default Gamefroot already has a few larger items in the items palette. To make sure items don’t get picked up when the player touches them, place them on the BG items layer.

You can make a village out of these houses. Cool beans!

How about uploading your own big images? It’s simple! Follow these easy steps:

1. Grab an image

Find an image that will add something to your game. I did a quick search for city skylines and found one that I’d like to use, so I saved it to my computer.

2. Upload it to your pack

Fire up the Gamefroot level editor, and open My Resources. Open a pack and click “Create New Assets”, select “Items”, then upload your image(s).

To make sure your images appear in the items palette, click “Add Pack to Game”.

Now you can place any sized images in your level!
