ABOUT
Gamefroot is an open community, an adaptive and efficient game engine, and a marketplace. All designed to democratise game making so everyone, from web developers, creative directors, IP owners and games enthusiasts, can develop and publish their web and mobile-ready HTML5 games.
The Wellington-based company funding Gamefroot, Instinct Entertainment was founded in 2002 by Dan Milward and has received Investment from Tokyo based firm Linc Media.
Gamefroot software allows people without programming knowledge to create games that can be played directly in the browser or on a mobile device using the internet and sold in the App Store.

QUOTES:
-
“I can see that Gamefroot puts the power back in the hands of the people. There is the potential for Gamefroot to have as much impact on classic 2D video games as Youtube has had on video. Another bonus is the speed at which these games can be created. This is democratising the gaming process and that has to be a beautiful thing.” – Greg Broadmore, Senior Designer at Weta Workshop and Dr Grordborts creator (from http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/SC1204/S00035/wellington-based-game-developer-promises-nerdgasm.htm)

“The hardest thing in game creation is the programming side of things – Gamefroot tries to break that down and make it as easy as possible,” Founder, Dan Milward From:http://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/culture/7934235/Mass-art-the-name-of-the-game
- “After half an hour of playing with the new Gamefroot game creation site, I was hooked.” – Luke Appleby – from: http://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/capital-life/6788294/Review-A-game-making-app-for-dummies
