Gamefroot Game Creator 1.4 Release Notes

The latest round of upgrades to the Gamefroot Game Creator have been added! Check it out here. This is potentially one of the coolest updates we have ever had, with some awesome features that make much easier to customize your games.

Here are the important features we have added to Gamefroot version 1.4:

  • Insert images of any size into your game as items and background items
  • Import artwork from your DeviantART sta.sh account, and upload as items
  • Spawn enemies with scripts
  • Script commands to detect where the mouse is, and to use mouse clicks to trigger events
  • In the script editor, click on red instance slots to open the instance selector, and target other scripted items in your game

In our biased opinion, this exponentially increases the possibility of amazing things that can be done with Gamefroot! Don’t get boxed in to making games exclusively with tiles now that you can upload images of any size, and why not draw some awesome game artwork in Muro and import it to Gamefroot?

Just to show you how great these new features are, we will be making a couple of short games to demonstrate how the new features are used. In the mean time feel free to play around, and let us know what you think.

Give us your feedback by posting comments below, or hit us up on TwitterFacebook, and the support page – Your ideas could make it into the next version of the Gamefroot Game Creator!

Have fun!

    1. Hi there Mr Bowserflame, could you try resaving your level then closing and reopening the level editor? That might fix it. If that doesn’t work please post the name of the level and I can have a look at it for you.
